This is a "slice" that was cut from the interior section of a Septarian nodule geode that developed between 50 to 70 millions of years ago in the Nzaz Region of Mid-Atlas Morocco. It is a combination of tan calcite and darker brown aragonite. This type of nodule was named Septarian from the Latin word that describes the "separations" of thin dark veins that cut across the tan thicker formations, almost looking like they have been hand stitched with leather. Flat and polished on both sides so this piece is reversible. Actually one side has more of a polish and you can notice the reflection of my camera lens on the dark surface (pic #2) ; Drilling option: -can be drilled front to back at one of the corners upon request, please inquire PRIOR to purchase; Stone Origin/Locality: Morocco.
